While she's passionate about both, Lanny is admittedly a better writer than tango dancer (well, she's been writing longer).

The Path to Copywhiz-dom
Armed with a degree in Journalism/Advertising, Lanny became a fashion copywriter at the premier department store in her home town of Minneapolis. Before long, she was made Copy Chief, and then set her sights on New York where she worked for ad agencies big and small creating print, TV and radio campaigns for national and regional brands. Along the way she won her share of awards and was privileged to work with, and learn from, some outstanding creative and marketing talent.

In the mid 1990s, Lanny made the leap to the SF Bay Area and established her freelance copywriting business. Since then she's focused on copy driven marketing for regional and national B2C and B2B clients. In addition to SEO website content, Lanny writes direct marketing projects, catalog copy, case studies and corporate communications.

Our Mothers' Recipes — The Book
One of the highlights of her writing life was collaborating with Jonathan Cutler to create Our Mothers' Recipes: Remembering the Meals That Shaped Our Lives. A delicious trip down memory lane, with recipes and fond childhood memories from contributors all over the country, it recalls a time when life was simpler and families gathered each night to enjoy a meal together.

Giving Back
A long time volunteer with the To Celebrate Life Breast Cancer Foundation, Lanny is co-chair of the Communications Committee. She also served on the Executive Committee for the annual Stepping Out To Celebrate Life fundraising gala.

When she's not writing you may find her dancing the Argentine tango at a practica in Marin or photographing the Clydesdales in Sonoma.
